Connection

To connect to the Monipa 1, use the ethernet port on the rear of the device and connect it with an ethernet cable to the computer that will be used to access it. For the initial setup, you need to change the network settings on the computer to static connection. On Windows this can be done in settings.

Network Settings

Modern Windows Network Settings

Legacy Windows Network Settings

Please change the IPv4 settings to manual and set the following parameters:

  • IP address: 10.0.0.3 (do not use 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.4, reserved)
  • Subnet: 255.255.255.0
  • Gateway: 10.0.0.2
  • Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8

Verify Connection

To make sure that the network setup was successful, visit the UI at http://10.0.0.2. In case there are any issues, first make sure that the cable is connected properly, and the device LED is blue. The network settings of the computer you are using might also not refresh, so you might have to reload or apply/save the settings multiple times. On some Windows computers, the additional specification of a DNS server (e.g. 8.8.8.8) helps in refreshing the network settings and to connect to the device.

NOTE: In case you are not sure about the current IP address or MAC address of the Monipa 1, you can connect a monitor to the HDMI port on the rear. This will display the current network settings. The purpose of this screen is solely to display the network settings. It does not provide further functionality.

NOTE: Please make sure that you use the http protocol for accessing the frontend. https support is available but based on self-signed certificates, which will lead to browser warnings.

Advanced Configuration

Please check the API documentation, e.g. http://10.0.0.2/docs#/Network or the Monipa 1 manual for more configuration options, i.e. regarding the network mode.

If you have further issues with the device’s connection, please contact support@irubis.com.
